On February 2, 2011, the Chinese Lunar New Year's eve, AU Commission Chairman Jean Ping sent New Year messages respectively to Chinese State Councilor Dai Bingguo and Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, wishing the Chinese people happiness, peace and health in the New Year. He also pledged to join hands with the Chinese side to promote the development of China-Africa relations and achieve peace, stability and prosperity of Africa.
