On January 27, 2011, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Michele Alliot-Marie. Both sides made positive comments on the development of bilateral ties, unanimously agreeing that positive achievements have been made in various fields of cooperation between China and France over the past year. In the new year, steps will be taken to further implement the consensus reached between leaders of the two countries to promote new and greater development of China-France relations, the two foreign ministers agreed.
