On January 28, 2011, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi met with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg in Beijing.

Both sides exchanged in-depth views on how to implement the important outcome achieved during President Hu’s state visit to the U.S., work together to build China-U.S. cooperative partnership based on mutual respect and mutual benefit and push for long-term sound and stable development of bilateral ties in the new era.

Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional hotspot issues of common concern.

Vice Foreign Ministers Zhang Zhijun and Cui Tiankai also met with Steinberg respectively.
