On October 20, 2010, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with Indonesian Vice President Boediono in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.
Wen said as two close neighbors and big developing nations, China and Indonesia have close ties and important common interests. Both sides have deepened their cooperation in jointly coping with a range of severe challenges including the international financial crisis. This year, the two countries have jointly celebrated the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, held China-Indonesia Year of Friendship and strengthened exchanges at all levels and in various areas, which has helped bilateral ties get closer.
Wen said China is ready to work with Indonesia to uphold good-neighborly friendship, deepen political trust and strengthen coordination in bilateral and multilateral areas, in order to push forward bilateral strategic partnership.
Boediono said that there is broad prospect for China-Indonesia cooperation. Both sides can make best of the China-ASEAN FTA within the framework of strategic partnership to expand pragmatic cooperation in trade, investment and infrastructure. Meanwhile, both sides should boost humanities exchanges and expand youth contacts so as to build up mutual understanding and friendship between both peoples.
