On October 19, 2010, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn in Ziguangge, Zhongnanhai.

"Currently the world economy is recovering slowly, but the outlook still remains uncertain," said Wen. To completely get over the global financial crisis and realize sustainable development requires the international community to follow a path for mutual benefits and common development, face up to what caused the financial crisis and step up reform of the global economic and financial systems, he added. China is ready to enhance coordination with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and make positive efforts to this end.

Strauss-Kahn said China's counter measures against the crisis are completely correct and also meet the expectation of the international community. All countries should continue to carry forward the spirit of sharing mutual concerns in the same boat to consolidate the momentum of the global economic recovery. Strauss-Kahn said the IMF values China's status and role and would like to build closer ties with the country.

Governor Zhou Xiaochuan of the People's Bank of China attended the meeting.
