On October 19, 2010, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi sent a message of condolence to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on the terrorist attack which took place in the Russian republic of Chechnya on that day.

In the message, Yang said that China strongly condemns the terrorist attack and resolutely opposes to all forms of terrorism. China and Russia hold a highly consistent stance on anti-terrorism. China is willing to join hands with Russia to concretely implement the China-Russia Cooperation Agreement on Combating Terrorism, Separatism and Extremism, strengthen the anti-terrorism cooperation, maintain the security interest of both countries and safeguard world peace and stability.
