Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi Accepts the Letter of Appointment Submitted by Renata Lok Dessallien, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in the People's Republic of China

On May 4, 2010, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi accepted the Letter of Appointment submitted by Renata Lok Dessallien, UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in the People’s Republic of China. Yang welcomed Dessallien to work in China and expressed the willingness to continue to enhance cooperation with UN agencies based in China including UNDP and provide facilitation for her work. Dessallien said that she felt honored to work in China and was willing to play a positive role in promoting China’s development. The two sides also exchanged views on issues such as strengthening cooperation between China and UN and the High-Level Meeting on UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).
