On April 27, 2010, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with visiting Tajik Foreign Minister Khamrokhon Zarifi. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on China-Tajikistan relations as well as international and regional issues of common concern, and reached broad consensus.
Yang made positive comments on the achievements made in the development of bilateral ties in recent years, saying that China attaches importance to developing ties with Tajikistan and is ready to work with it to comprehensively implement the agreements reached by both sides. The two countries should build up mutual understanding and trust, deepen cooperation on economy, trade, transportation, communications and humanities, enhance coordination and cooperation in multilateral frameworks including the UN and the SCO, and jointly combat the East Turkistan terrorists and the "three evil forces" of terrorism, separatism and extremism in order to push forward bilateral ties.

Zarifi reaffirmed Tajikistan’s adherence to the one-China policy, expressing his country’s willingness to continuously deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with China in bilateral fields and multilateral frameworks such as the SCO, jointly combat the “three evil forces” and safeguard and promote peace, stability and development of this region.
