On June 29, 2010, Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks in the Foreign Ministry with member of the Swiss Federal Council and head of Federal Department of Foreign Affairs Micheline Calmy-Rey.

Hailing the China-Switzerland relations, Yang expressed hope that the two nations would take the opportunity of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties and work together to enhance bilateral ties on the basis of mutual respect, equality and reciprocity. Calmy-Rey said the Swiss government valued the ties with China and would continue to stick to the one-China policy. Switzerland would work with China to constantly expand pragmatic cooperation in various sectors, she noted. The two foreign ministers also exchanged in-depth views on the UN reform, climate change and regional hotspot issues.

Calmy-Rey was here on an official visit to China at the invitation of Yang.
