On July 27, 2009, Wang Qishan, special representative of Chinese President Hu Jintao and Vice Premier of the State Council who was attending the first round of China-US strategic and economic dialogue, said that an opener and more dynamic Chinese economy would bring about huge development opportunities to other countries in the world, including the US.

The current dialogue is a key manifestation of the consensus. Therefore, both China and the US should make best use of the dialogue platform to enhance consensus, reinforce mutual trust, expand the converging interests and strive to achieve more mutually beneficial and win-win results.
During the economic dialogue, the two sides, focusing on the theme of building confidence to restore economic growth, strengthening China-US economic cooperation, will exchange views on such major issues as further coping with the international financial crisis, building a strong financial system, deepening cooperation on trade and investment and promoting sustainable economic growth, send out another positive signal that China and the US will join hands to pull through the difficulties and stimulate the recovery of their economy and the world economy at large. From the historical and philosophical perspectives, the pursuit of mankind for peace and development, prosperity and civilization has never changed and always proceeds by conquering difficulties. Wang indicated confidence that this crisis would come to the end sooner or later.
