On August 22nd, Ambassador Wang Wenli attended the Graduation Ceremony for 2026 Graduates and Farewell for 2026 New Students Departing to China. Around 100 guests and students participated in the ceremony, including Ms. Santina Cardoso, Minister of Finance, Ms. Jesuina Gomes, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, representatives of Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Culture, Timor-Leste-China Alumni Association (TLCAA) and Association of Timorese Students in China, as well as 2026 graduates and 2026 new student departing to China.

Ambassador Wang extended warm congratulations to 2026 graduates and 2026 new students departing to China, introduced the Chinese government scholarship to Timor-Leste and stated that China attaches great importance to education cooperation between two countries, encouraged the students to study hard and play an active role in carrying forward the traditional friendship between the two countries and contributing to building a China-Timor-Leste community with a shared future.

Minister Cardoso thanked China for its long-term strong support for education development and talent cultivation in Timor-Leste, and expressed her hope that students should not only diligently study the professional knowledge, but also absorb Chinese wisdom, so as to become the new generation of hope for the country.

 Mr. Dircio Ximenes, president of TLCAA and a representative of new students spoke in turn, expressing their gratitude for the support of the Chinese government, and stated they will actively contribute to the friendship between China and Timor-Leste.
