On July 23, H.E. Ambassador Wang Wenli attended the handover ceremony of sports equipment donated by China's Yunnan Province to the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Art and Culture of Timor-Leste. The ceremony was attended by H.E. Minister Nelyo Isaac Sarmento, along with Director General of Youth Mr. Mario Tilma, Director General of Corporate Services Mr. João dos Santos and other officials, and over twenty journalists.

Ambassador Wang noted that sports are a universal language that transcends borders and connects hearts, serving as an important bond for enhancing friendship between the youth of the two countries and deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges. The sports equipment donated by Yunnan Province, diverse in variety and highly practical, exemplifies the people-to-people friendship and sub-national cooperation between China and Timor-Leste. China stands ready to join hands with Timor-Leste to continue deepening and solidifying exchanges and cooperation in the fields of youth, sports, and culture.

Minister Isaac stated that Timor-Leste's sports infrastructure is still being improved, and the donation from Yunnan Province will provide strong support for the development of youth sports in the country. He spoke highly of the friendly exchanges between the two countries in sports and culture, and expressed his expectation to maintain close communication with China to elevate bilateral people-to-people and sports cooperation to a new level..
