On May 24th, the Timor-Leste Primary Contest of the 25th "Chinese Bridge"- Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was successfully held at IOB. 14 contestants from universities including UNTL, IOB, and UNPAZ participated in the event. Mr. Xu Xingqiang, Minister Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Nearly 100 local teachers, students and Chinese language enthusiasts attended the event.

Mr. Xu noted that the "Chinese Bridge" serves as an important bond for promoting people-to-people bonds between China and Timor-Leste and practicing the Global Civilization Initiative, adding that the rising enthusiasm for the Chinese language is a vivid epitome of the continuously deepening educational cooperation between the two nations. He encouraged the young students to use the language as a bridge and strive to become inheritors and practitioners of bilateral friendship and mutual learning among civilizations.

Focusing on the theme of "One World, One Family," the contestants fully demonstrated their solid Chinese language skills and cultural comprehension through keynote speeches, talent shows, and language Q&A sessions. The competition venue was filled with excitement, where spectacular performances of Chinese Kung Fu, traditional dances, and Chinese songs drew continuous rounds of applause.
