On July 12, 2011, Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi held talks with Ahmed, visiting special envoy of Palestinian President.

Yang welcomed Ahmed to visit China. He spoke highly of the positive development of China-Palestine traditional friendship in recent years. He said China and Palestine are good friends and good brothers. China will always firmly support the just cause of the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights. China supports the establishment of a fully sovereign independent Palestinian state. China appreciates Pakistan's adherence to the choice of peace. China will continue to support the just cause of the Palestinian people. China hopes that the Palestinian goal of establishing an independent state can be realized at an early date.

Ahmed informed the latest situation of Palestine, thanked China for the long-term support to the just cause of the Palestinian people and the cause of establishing an independent state, and thanked China's help to the economic and social development of Palestine. He said Palestine will work with China to strive for new development in bilateral relations of friendly cooperation.
