On April 30, 2011, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with Indonesian Vice President Boediono in Jakarta. Both sides exchanged views mainly on advancing China-Indonesia economic and trade cooperation.
Wen said that with the development of ASEAN–China Free Trade Area, Sino-Indonesian bilateral trade has grown rapidly in recent years as China has become the largest exporter of non-oil and gas products to Indonesia and the second largest export market and trading partner of the Southeast Asian country. He said he has reached broad consensus with Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and that the two sides have set a new target of achieving a two-way trade volume of 80 billion U.S. dollars by 2015. The premier expressed the hope that China and Indonesia would work together to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, finance, infrastructure, energy, agriculture and other sectors to promote common development and prosperity.
Boediono expressed warm welcome for Premier Wen’s visit and noted that Premier Wen's visit has been very fruitful and will strongly boost bilateral pragmatic cooperation. He said Indonesia is willing to work with China to implement consensus, display the complementary advantages of the two economies, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation and realize common development.
