President Hu Jintao Sends Congratulatory Message on the 61st Anniversary of the Founding of the Republic of Korea

On August 14, 2009, Chinese President Hu Jintao sent a congratulatory message to President of the Republic of Korea (ROK) Lee Myung-bak on the 61st anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Korea.

In his message, Hu said that as a friendly neighbor, China is delighted with the ROK's achievements in economic and social development and is satisfied with the sound development of bilateral ties. It is in the common interest of the two countries and their peoples to continue deepening their already-established strategic cooperative partnership. Hu expressed hope to further enhance cooperation with his ROK counterpart to jointly push forward bilateral ties.
