Notification of holding an essay, photography and video conteston the theme of China-Timor-Leste Cooperationin COVID-19 response and flood relief

The year of 2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 19th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Timor-Leste. In order to highlight the touching stories of jointly fighting COVID-19 pandemic and flood relief between China and Timor-Leste, and carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste is going to hold an essay, photography and video contest. The requirements are as follows:

 

1.Theme

Although disaster and pandemic has no mercy, humanity will prevail through solidarity and mutual support. Through essay, picture, video and other forms, you can tell the touching stories, characters and scenes of cooperation between China and Timor-Leste in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and disaster relief, and share your thoughts on traditional friendship between the two countries. It reflects the positive changes that friendly cooperation between China and Timor-Leste has brought to the people of the two countries, especially for Timorese.

 

2. Participants

This event is open to employees of Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese in Timor-Leste, Timorese people and members in Chinese Embassy. Chinese institutions and enterprises, Chinese Associations in Timor-Leste are welcome to submit their entries.

 

3. Requirements

(1) Please choose the angle according to the requested theme and draw up the title by yourself.

I. There is no restriction on the type of essay, writing in Chinese, English or Tetum. Essays of a delicate thousand words, less than two thousand words are preferred. If necessary, 1-2 photos can be attached. If the essay is in Chinese, the title of the article should be in Boldface type 2, and the text should be in Copycat type 3, with a fixed line spacing of 30 pounds.

II. The photography entries can be in color, or black and white, with short explanation (including the author's name, the title, the shooting time, the background introduction, etc.). The entries require the image to be real and can be appropriately dimmable and colored, but not be synthesized, added or substantially changed color.

 

III. Video can be shot by camera, mobile phone and other means, or can be shot by aerial photography. Style includes, but not limited to plot, record, long shot, etc. The duration should be within 10 seconds to 5 minutes, and the size compression should be controlled within 500M (except for special circumstances).

(2) The entries must be original, are not published in newspapers, online and other media. Don't submit more than one manuscript and plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

 

4. Submission

(1) The entries shall be submitted electronically to designated email: chinaembassytl@gmail.com. Video files can be uploaded to network disk and provide the download link.

(2) Please mark the subject of the email for submission. The title or body should leave the information of the name, organization and contact number of the author.

(3) Deadline of submission: from the date of this notice to June 15.

 

5. Selection

In line with the principle of "fairness, impartiality and openness", the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste will organize experts to evaluate the entries.

 

Excellent entries will be published on the Embassy's official website, WeChat and Facebook, and may be shared to other media as appropriate.

 

6. Awards

According to final submitted entries, there will be First, Second, Third awards and several excellent organization awards, with certificate.

 

7. Others

Entries that violate the requirements of this Notification (such as irrelevant topics, late submission, etc) are ineligible to participate. The Embassy reserves the right of final interpretation and all other relevant legal rights.
