Notice on the launch of Electronic Application Form and Online Appointment for Chinese Visa

The Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste will launch the electronic visa application and online Appointment for Chinese visa starting from 10 May 2021. The specific arrangements are as follows:

 

1. From today on, applicants are required to log on http://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn and fill in the visa application form online. After completing the form online, you may log on http://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn to make an appointment. After that, applicants need to submit the confirmation letter with signature, the print-out application form together with passport and other supporting documents to the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste at the appointed time.

 

2. Holders of diplomatic and service(official) passports are exempted from prior appointment, only need to fill in the online visa application form at https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn, and submit the confirmation letter with signature, application form, together with passport and other supporting documents to the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste.

 

3. For smooth convergence and transition, the applicant may still submit the old-version application form during the transition period from May 10 to June 9. There is no need to make an online appointment when you submit an old-version application form.

 

4. Notices:

(1) According to the Notice of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and National Immigration Administration on temporary suspend the entry into China by foreign nationals holing valid Chinese visas or residence permits issued on 26 March 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Timor-Leste temporarily suspends relevant Chinese visa applications. For essential economic, trade, scientific and technological activities and emergency humanitarian visa application, please send e-mail to consulate_tmp@mfa.gov.cn for consultation.

 

(2) The visa application approach for Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative regions of China remains unchanged, and there is no need to fill in the electronic visa application form and make an appointment online. Please visit the website of the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (https://www.immd.gov.hk/) and the Public Security Police Force of the Macao Special Administrative Region (https://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/cht/main.html) to make an inquiry about visa policy.

 

(3) Due to the COVID-19 epidemic in Timor-Leste, the consular office of the Embassy has been temporarily closed. After receiving the online appointment application, the Chinese Embassy will inform the applicant as soon as possible. Please keep the line available.
